What can we learn from great leaders of the past? In these cynical times we can be forgiven for looking at all leaders with suspicion. But there is the common thread of humanity that binds us. One of those threads is a love and appreciation for art. One of those famous leaders who also loved painting was, of course, Winston Churchill.
In this episode of Loosen Up Your Painting Podcast we take a look into Churchill's painting philosophy in his book Painting as a Pastime. Find out more about Winston Churchill's painting tips, experiences with French Impressionism and his views on oil paints versus watercolors.

You like to watch painting videos? So do I. Painting is visual and we learn so much by watching other artists paint. Everybody observes different things too. It is similar to an apprenticeship. We watch and absorb all we can. Learning is never ending. It is also fun and entertaining. This is why I have invested much of my time in creating paintings videos too. In this article I am going to share with you my top 10 painting videos on my channel. Perhaps you have not seen some of them and this lists could be helpful to you. Lets begin. We are ending off the year with the biggest Creative Bundle so far. Not only is this bundle packed with a variety of courses, books and tutorials, but you also save BIG. Take a moment to have a look at what is on offer here:
Contemporary Impressionism, New-Impressionism, Painterly style - whatever description you use the expectation remains the same. You expect a style of painting that is bold, packed with big juicy brushwork, suggested details, simplification of shapes and a little mystery too. These paintings are representational, but often flirt close to abstraction.
This approach to painting has been my guiding light for the past ten years or more. The loose, painterly approach is exciting, different and often frustratingly elusive. One of the artists that is pushing the boundaries of Neo-Impressionism is Russian artist Bato Dugarzhapov. Can your art become a real business? These days more creatives are looking for alternate sources of income through their art. If you have employment, which is good, you may still be looking for something on the side that is fun to do. I thought it would be fun to share my NEW favorite tools and resources for side hustle success with you. *
